A personal story in the Andes
Where it all began
It all started with a family dream back in 2018. My parents wanted my maternal grandmother to see the wonder of the world and did everything possible to make it happen. So we embarked on this journey together.
February 14: The Journey
Traveling by train through the Sacred Valley was a magical experience. We arrived at Machu Picchu Pueblo quite tired. I remember the date well, not because of Valentine's Day, but because there was a Champions League match that day and I stayed watching it in the hotel reception.
The Ascent in the Mist
We went up to the citadel very early, facing thick morning mist head-on... Traveling on these dates is pure chance due to the rainy season! (Sometimes passes are even cut off due to landslides in the area, take it as a fact to consider).
When the Sky Clears
The initial lack of visibility brought us down a bit, but as we followed the route, the panorama cleared up. A much better view was achieved; that's why I have good shots, although no longer at the iconic classic viewpoint.
The Sacred Rock and the Value of Being There
We closed the circuit at the Sacred Rock. What will last is not the perfect photo with the landscape behind, but the mini-adventures along the way and having shared this milestone as a family. It was an incredible experience that I invite everyone to live.
My Next Goal
"I want to return there, but this time experience it in a more adventurous way: hiking trails on foot and climbing the imposing Huayna Picchu. Today, in 2026 and after the hard hits of the pandemic, we are getting better and the goal remains intact."
